A few years ago, you needed an internet connection to use most of these features. Now they are in-app purchases or subscriptions that can be paid through your phone’s wallet.

Become a follower of brands you admire

By being part of the community that their accounts create, you get an inside look at what products and services they promote. You also gain insight into how they position themselves relative to competitors.

You can then take some of these things from theirs and apply it to your own business. By creating a supportive community, you open up opportunities for new customers as well as promoting your product/service.

Here are three easy ways to add listening apps to boost engagement on the platform.

Pay attention to what they post

It’s easy to notice trends among your followers, but not all posts are designed for engagement. Some are just pictures of their kids or pets with some vague comments about how cute they look or how good they will photobomb you if you try to take a picture.

If you want to know who is trying to get more likes on their stories, check out the settings. You can view which tags other users have used to describe a photo, and compare those to what you've already seen to determine whether someone included those as part of the effect of the story.

Watch for fresh content every day

A great way to see what people are talking about is to watch for new content on your favorite artists, TV shows or movies. You can even create an account just so you have a place to check back in!

By adding these songs into your listening habits, you’ll find that it blooms into more of an activity. It also helps spread awareness of the song, which helps their fan base grow.

You will still need to make sure to listen to good music, but this gives you an additional source. If someone posts a photo set with one of those songs in it, you'll know if they enjoyed it.

Comment and like on their posts

This is one of the most important things you can do as an influencer on social media. The more comments you leave, the higher your follower count will grow!
As seen in our tips above, looking for trends is one way to see what’s popular on Instagram.

By scanning through your favorite accounts' profiles, you'll notice that they always have lots of comments and likes. People comment and like content to show appreciation or recognize the work the artist put into his/her pictures.

Interacting with different types of users can also help gain new followers. By leaving comments and liking other people's photos, you're demonstrating that you are interested in the community and supporting others.

Share their content with your followers

After you have installed the app, open it and search for an artist or song that you like! Then, click the button that says “Add To Profile” next to the link of the music.

This will add the song or audio to your profile so that anyone can check out what songs you are listening to. You can also view other people's songs to get more inspiration.

You can do this not only for artists, but also for albums, groups, and podcasts.

Become their fan

The best way to find out what people are talking about is to become a follower of theirs! People share things they love with, you know, with their followers.

By adding them as your follow, you get exposed to all of their posts, including the ones that aren’t necessarily “spontaneous” or “off-the-cuff.”

You can also use the search bar at the top to look for specific accounts. For example, if you're looking to listen to more jazz music, you could type in “jazz guitar” to see who some of the artists are that other people have marked as favorites.

Instagram has an internal algorithm that determines which stories to show you, but becoming a bigger account means there's a better chance that you'll be shown the same content others have shared before.

Buy products they sell

A lot of people start buying and using beauty products by experimenting with what works for them. They may also read lots of reviews or talk about trends with friends to learn more tips and tricks.

There is an easy way to see what people are listening to via music on your Instagram feed! It’s kind of weird, but totally works. All you have to do is tell someone how much you liked one of their posts and then watch as they reward you by showing you more of their content.

It’s almost like social media psychology in action!

Here’s the thing about this trick — it only works if the person you rewarded has lots of followers or at least doesn’t follow very many rules (like having to use the numbered list feature on Instagram). If that’s not the case, this won’t work for you.
