How Video Became Trending On Youtube

This is not your father’s YouTube! Gone are the days when you had to create an account, upload some videos, pick a niche and then sit back as people came to you and asked for help.
These days, anyone can start their own channel by picking any topic they like, creating a video around that topic and promoting it via social media. It’s also very easy to set up a live stream or subscribe to someone else’s channel so you get regular updates.
With over 2.1 billion monthly active users now, there’s always going to be a platform for you to grow on. You just need to find yours!
There are lots of ways to make money online these days, but none of them are guaranteed to pay well unless you're working hard to promote specific products and services.
By and large, internet income comes from three sources - advertising, affiliates and surveys. Advertising usually means paid advertisements which may or may not be relevant to you as the viewer. Affiliates reward you for product sales you direct their way, and surveys typically offer small rewards per survey if you're really diligent about completing them.
The quality of videos affects how they are shared
There is an element to social media that people seem to forget: it’s about creating content people want to see. Content doesn’t really matter unless someone else makes something out of it, which can sometimes be hard to do if you don’t know what will get noticed or not.
The way to make this happen is by investing in good equipment. Sure, having better speakers or a nicer looking laptop may win you some points with your friends, but nothing beats owning a few pieces that help you create great content every time.
Running low on battery life or no longer using the software necessary to produce professional grade video means amateur footage now has to meet the same standards.
This isn’t always a bad thing as many people enjoy watching lower budget videos, but for those who aspire to shoot higher quality material, this can pose a problem.
The content of videos affects how they are shared

There is one very important factor in how quickly your video goes viral-the content of the video!
If you watch sports, then the next thing you know is everyone else talking about that crazy move or goal you just saw. If there’s a hot topic, people will want to talk about it – especially if it’t been discussed much before.
This is what makes YouTube so powerful. People love discussing topics, and the way most people use social media is by sharing things related to them.
So when someone does something interesting, others copy it, expand upon it, and add their own comments to make it more relevant for their audience. This is why all those funny reactions to weird pictures go viral; people enjoy seeing fun new expressions and copying them.
The success of any given clip comes down to three main factors: engagement, timing, and originality.
Engagement is directly correlated with the length of time viewers stay focused on the video. More long exposure means more chances to get distracted or start watching another channel.
Timing also plays an integral part in whether or not your video gets spread. Some videos find success because they were posted at a time when many people were online, thus increasing viewership. Others fail due to this fact.
Originality is key as well. If the same type of video has already been done a lot of times, no one is really impressed anymore.
The amount of viewers affects how they are shared

Recent trends on YouTube have been made by people watching lots of videos. If you watch enough videos, you will probably see something new you can make or action your channel can be broken down into!
If you are looking to expand your audience, start creating content that is focused around others’ work. This is an easy way to pick up some inspiration and tips from other successful YouTubers!
Your followers and watchers want to see entertaining and interesting content so ensure that you supply them with both. Let yourself get inspired and take notes of good practices to add to yours.
Another tip is to create quality content. Make sure your production value is top notch – use decent microphones and speakers, adequate lighting, etc.
Avoid being too promotional unless it is for products or services that your followeror might later buy.
YouTube advertisements affect how videos are shared

A few years back, if you wanted to see what people were talking about or watching online, you would visit You-Tube!
As of late though, it seems that people have given up trying to find entertaining content by going directly to You-tube.
Instead, they create their own entertainment by video blogging or filming themselves doing things and putting them all onto another site called “YouTube”.
This is done so because YouTube offers us ways to make money from your videos (and yourself!).
You can make an extra income producing educational videos or teaching others something new. Or you can produce funny or motivational videos and get paid for that too!
All this is made possible through two features on YouTube: advertising and collaborations. Let’s look at each one separately.
Advertising
Most people are familiar with the way commercials work. An advertiser pays Youtuber's channel to put their advertisement in a place where it will be seen by many people.
This is typically before the video or during a segment of the video, but some advertise only once the whole video has been watched.
The advertisers pay not just for the exposure, but also for the action the ad gets completed. For example, they may pay to complete a sale, enter a contest, or improve self confidence.
The way you upload your video affects how it is shared

After creating your account, you will want to pick an appropriate title for your video. This title should be catchy and descriptive of what the movie will be.
It should also tell people something about the movie or business. Try and use keywords so that others can find you online easily.
You do not need to include all of these details in the first try, as you have been given some initial settings and features!
After uploading your video, the next step is to choose who gets to view your content. You can make your content public, private, or restricted (only members of a group can see it).
This article will go more into detail on different ways to spread your videos around the internet.
Popularity of the video's creator affects how it is shared

As we mentioned earlier, content creators are key to your channel growing in popularity. If you enjoy creating YouTube videos, then you should know that becoming popular comes from investing time into developing yourself as an artist.
Undoubtedly, being well-known and having many followers is what really helps your channel grow. However, there are other ways to increase your audience size while still keeping your focus on producing quality content.
The first way is marketing yourself online through social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. But aside from those big platforms, there’s another site that can help you spread your message even more – YouTube!
YouTube gives users the opportunity to create their own channels where they can upload and share videos with the world.
The time of day your video is shared

After creating his channel in 2010, YouTube creator Sean O’Mara found that most of his videos didn’t get many views. It took him several months to figure out why. He recalls thinking, “It just doesn’t seem like anyone comes here to watch my videos. They come for TV but they don’t stay.”
He then noticed one common factor: Most of his videos were posted at around midnight or early morning Pacific Time (PT), when people are asleep. This was before everyone had access to personal devices with internet connections, so most people still used a computer or smartphone to view content.
Since most people sleep during those times, few people watched his videos.
This made sense because it takes some time to create a youtube channel! You have to pick a username, update your profile, upload lots of videos, etc… All things that take time away from watching other channels and surfing the net.
So if no one watches your videos, you kind of lose. Or maybe you keep losing?
Sean spent hours developing his craft as a filmmaker, and he wanted his work to reach others. So he kept filming and uploading, even though he probably wouldn’t make much money off of it.
But something funny happened – his videos started getting attention. More people would leave comments and say how great his films were, or ask about certain parts that he included.
The language of the video

With the explosion in popularity of YouTube, now is a great time to explore how videos work. While not every video you see online will be educational or entertaining, there are some basics that apply to most videos.
The first thing many people notice about a new youtube video is its language. You can tell what kind of content a movie or show is by whether it’s spoken word or not. For example, documentaries use only spoken words whereas an animated movie would probably have lots of sounds but very little actual speech.
In fact, one major part of making a successful video is picking out the right voice for your film. If you don’t like the way someone speaks, then find another person with the same speaking style and imitate them!
Another key component of success is the editing. Even if you aren’t totally sure what the next scene should look like, spending time learning the basic rules of cutaways and cross-cutting is worth your while.
After all, a good editor knows when to cut off a topic and come up with something else on their own.
