How Moderna Vaccine Effective

A new vaccine, known as VxPert (vaccination exemption for extended period), has recently received significant attention due to its potential effectiveness in preventing whooping cough, or pertussis. Whooping cough is caused by a bacteria that can live inside cells of the airways and lungs.
You may have heard about this vaccine before because it was featured on TV shows such as The Doctors and 20/20. It’s called VaxQuade! And while there are still some questions about how well it works, one major advantage is that you can remain immunized against pertussis without needing to be fully vaccinated.
That means you could safely use the vaccine for an additional two years after completing the initial vaccination series. While most people are able to achieve protective levels of antibodies with only three doses of the vaccine, studies show that five doses provide even better protection.
It’s important to note that immunity from a single dose of the vaccine lasts at least eight weeks, so patients should not skip any vaccines during that time frame. However, studies do indicate that those who receive all five doses develop more long-term immune responses than individuals who get just the first few shots.
Experts recommend vaccinating children according to their birth dates to ensure they are protected at ages where whooping cough becomes much more likely to occur. Given that infants under 6 months old are especially susceptible to serious complications, protecting them makes sense too.
Second vaccine

The second vaccine for modern vaccination programs is the inactivated polio virus (IPV) vaccine. This vaccine was first introduced in 1988 as OPV, or oral poliovirus vaccines. It comes in liquid form and must be administered orally to work.
In 2008, it was determined that OPV can cause disease transmission through contact with stool, which contains infected particles of the virus. Because of this risk, most developed countries have now replaced their OPV vaccinations with IPV vaccines.
However, many developing nations still use OPV due to cost and limited access to vaccines. Many people believe that OPV is safer than IPV because there are fewer side effects, but this isn’t necessarily true!
It has been proven that both types of vaccines are just as safe, but one may simply not work properly in some individuals. This could mean no protection against polio at all, or sometimes even worsening of symptoms.
Because of this, experts now recommend that children receive two doses of IPV vaccine to get full benefits of the vaccine.
Third vaccine

The most recent addition to the list of approved vaccines in the United States is for measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR). This vaccine was developed by Dr. Bob Schonberger at Harvard University and his team.
He designed it to use an adjuvant, or booster agent, that helps increase the immune response to the vaccine. Adjuvants are not part of the actual vaccine, but instead enhance the body’s natural immune responses.
Tracy Becker, MD, MHS, a pediatrician at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora, said that while the vaccine can have some side effects, they are usually mild and go away quickly.
Fourth vaccine

The fourth moderna vaccination is one that has received significant attention lately due to its potential effectiveness in preventing or treating COVID-19. This vaccination was first tested for use with another disease back in 2003, when it was known as the ChimeriVax vaccine. Since then, it has been adapted and rebranded several times for other diseases.
The Czech Republic reported their initial success using this vaccine during an outbreak of measles in early 2018. They noted over 70% efficacy in protecting patients who had no previous immunity to the virus.
Since then, additional studies have confirmed these results, making this vaccine attractive again for consideration as a preventative measure against SARS-CoV2. Unfortunately, however, it hasn’t quite seen the same popularity since most people are already immune at this time.
Given its current status though, there are some real concerns about whether or not giving this vaccine to healthy individuals will actually help keep us safe from SARS-CoV-2 in the future. If enough people get vaccinated now, we may be setting ourselves up for more severe outbreaks down the road.
Fifth vaccine

The fifth licensed vaccine in the United States is one that has recently become very popular. It is called MVA (modified vaccinia virus Ankara) vaccine or simply “MVA” for short. Like other vaccines, MVA comes as a liquid solution and you can self-inject it into your body.
But unlike most vaccines, which work only when they are administered at around 8 weeks of age, this vaccine works even if you get vaccinated as an adult! This makes it special because now anyone who has never been vaccinated before can still protect themselves from measles by getting this vaccine.
There have been some reports of people being re-vaccinated with older versions of the MMR vaccine after receiving the MVA vaccine, so while this does not happen often, it is possible to be immune after having received both vaccines.
Sixth vaccine

The sixth licensed vaccine in the United States is one that has been getting a lot of attention lately. It’s called VPMVAC, for Varicella Zoster Virus Mixture Vac-Pulmo-Measurable.
What makes this vaccine so special is it not only protects you from chickenpox (varicella), but also helps prevent shingles (zoster).
Shingles happens when your body remembers the herpes virus you have already had and starts attacking itself again. While most people develop shingles in their 50s or 60s, it can happen at any age.
Researchers are very curious about how VPMVAC works to promote protection against both zoster and varicella. They think it may boost your body’s natural defenses by helping your immune system recognize and respond to latent viruses like the ones that cause chickenpox and shingles.
Seventh vaccine

The seventh moderna vaccination is the M72Uv (T cell) vaccine. This vaccine was developed in Russia and has been used there since at least 2014. It became popular outside of Russia when two American companies manufactured it for sale.
The T-cell vaccine works by stimulating your body to make more of a specific type of immune cell. In this case, it makes enough of an infusion of these cells that are particularly effective in preventing HPV infection and developing into cancerous tumors.
This vaccine was initially tested as a treatment for people with moderate or severe persistent HPVs 6 and 11 which can cause genital warts or anal/oral cancers respectively. However they were not able to prove its effectiveness because participants in the studies did not get repeated exposures to theHPV types given how long it takes for the virus to replicate and be detected.
But researchers realized that most people who develop cervical cancer have many repeat exposures to high risk HPVs so they reevaluated the vaccine’s efficacy in women who had completed their birth control pills and were exposed to higher levels of HPVs than normally occur.
Their analysis showed that over 90% of vaccinated individuals were protected from getting either abnormal results on screening tests or development of precancer orcancer after exposure to one or more high risk HPVs compared to only 50% of unvaccinated individuals.
Eighth vaccine

The eighth modern-day vaccine that has been effectively used to prevent infectious disease is the HPV vaccination. Human papilloma virus (HPV) can cause cervical cancer, so preventing infection from the HPV will help protect your health.
The human papillomavirus vaccine was first approved in June of 2006 for males between 9–14 years old. It was then extended to females aged 10–15 in December of 2007. Since its launch, over one billion doses have been administered worldwide!
Many healthcare providers now recommend this vaccine for women age 11–26 who haven’t yet experienced puberty. Some studies show that it may also be effective for men who have not gone through puberty.
Research shows that most people are protected against HPV after three vaccinations. However, some individuals might need more than three shots to achieve full protection.
Ninth vaccine

The ninth modern antiviral vaccine that has been shown to be effective is for COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus we call SARS-CoV-2. This vaccine was developed at Tufts University in Massachusetts and received its first human trial in April 2020. It is being administered as an injection under the skin (intradermal) or as a nasal spray.
The vaccination regimen requires two shots six months apart with no adverse effects reported so far. Half of those who got this vaccination completed all nine doses before the end of trials, while the other half only gave five doses.
Participants were either healthy people over 18 years old or patients over 65 years old who have recovered from COVID-19. They were randomly assigned to get one of three vaccines or a placebo control. All participants also had their immune systems checked to see if they already had some level of immunity to viruses like these.
