F Pattern Marketing

Online marketing is very different than classic marketing. Gone are the days when you could create an ad, put it up on a billboard or radio station, and expect people to see it and notice it.

With online marketing, you will need to be more creative and strategic with your approach. You can’t just spend money on advertisements anymore because that style of advertising is not effective.

It is difficult to get someone else’s attention except through use of keywords and rich content. More and more companies are using special software to help automate some of these processes for you!

There are many ways to achieve success in online marketing, but one of the most important things to know about is pattern marketing. Let’s look at some examples!

Example 1 – How does this work?

Say you wanted to do something fun like take a trip outside during winter. You would probably research best places to go snowboarding before doing so. You may even check out reviews to make sure it is safe.

After all, you want to enjoy yourself, right? If you have ever seen a person enjoying themselves then try out a product or service, you will know what I mean.

So how does this relate to business? Companies that practice pattern marketing also review products and services to determine if they are worth investing in.

They compare prices against features to find which ones seem good enough to buy.

Who is Alex Ohno?

You may have heard of this marketing tactic, but you probably didn’t know who it was designed for or what his story is. He's famous! Before he became an Olympic Gold Medalist in figure skating, he spent years developing his business skills.

He now runs The Productivity Studio, which offers online courses and resources to help people become more productive.

His course: Become More Productive Online teaches practical strategies for saving time and energy, improving productivity systems, and learning how to manage your time.

It also covers easy ways to boost motivation and inspire action, so that you're not just spending your days watching TV or sleeping.

What does the F pattern mean?

f pattern marketing

The first element of this marketing strategy is called the Fun Product or Fun Initiative. This could be anything from reading a book, to traveling, to learning a new skill or craft, to engaging in an activity or hobby that you already have going on.

The second part of the F pattern comes down to creating experiences for your customers. You pick your fun initiative, promote it, and then create an experience around it.

This can be through attending a event connected to the fun product, supporting the fun product with buying products related to the fun product, or just talking about the fun product so people can get involved in it.

At the end of the experience, you take some sort of action such as sharing the experience online, writing a review of the experience, or both.

What are the different F patterns?

f pattern marketing

The first pattern is what many refer to as “fast food” marketing, which looks to make products seem attractive by offering quick rewards (keep reading your magazine) or giveaways (buy this product today!).

This type of marketing often uses emotional appeals that appeal to our instincts – thinking about how much money we would save if only these products worked can motivate us to try them.

The downside to this type of marketing is that it may not be the most effective way to market a long-term relationship. We become so focused on getting our reward that we ignore whether or not the product works and will work for us.

Another drawback is that when people feel tricked into buying a product they wanted, they lose trust in the company. If they feel like their wishes were ignored then they won’t want to purchase anything from you.

However, some companies use this approach because it works! There are plenty of examples of successful brands using this technique including Amazon and Netflix.

Examples of F patterns

f pattern marketing

The first example of an F pattern comes from marketing guru Andy Hobbins. He calls this pattern “Fun to use, powerful, and worth trying”.

The feature or element of the product is directly related to how well it works. For example, I would say most smartphone apps have an interactive interface, features, and/or widgets that are designed to be beautiful.

They are easy to use, put emphasis on flashy graphics instead of text, and contain lots of vibrant colors. This attracts new users because they like the intuitive design and appearance of the app.

However, once you do find something helpful in the app, you will eventually run into a problem there isn’t a solution for. At that time, your hope is that someone else has the same issue and goes onto YouTube to look up answers.

I believe that as companies lose their focus on creating products people want, other products with similar benefits are becoming more popular.

What is a product launch?

f pattern marketing

A product launch happens when you release a new version of your product or go public with an already-publicized product. It’s typically a few weeks before people notice a change in engagement around your products and brand, but once they do, it’s significant!

When was the last time you did something new that made you feel excited? A lot of things can make us feel this way, like going to a new restaurant for dinner, giving a talk at work, starting working out, or spending Sunday after church watching a movie you've been wanting to watch for months.

It's hard to get motivated to do things that you have done before, so how about doing what most big companies do? Doing them more, faster, bigger, and better than ever!

That’s why I’m sharing my tips on how to do pattern marketing — launching new versions of your product or telling the world about the features of an old one. Here are some examples:

In March 2018, Amazon launched its mobile app which allows users to order groceries online and pick up at a nearby store. Before then, Amazon only allowed customers to place orders through their smartphone apps or via the web browser. This new feature comes just over two years since Amazon first released their initial grocery service where you could add items to your cart and checkout online.

What is a promotion?

A promotional item is anything that helps your business gain exposure for its brand or products. These can be expensive, but they are worth it as they cost nothing to make and you get full credit for giving them away!

Most businesses have at least one promotional item such as an employee badge or logo t-shirt. This is because it not only creates an interactive experience for the viewer, but also encourages employees to use the product or service being promoted.

The main goal of marketing isn’t just to generate attention for your company, but to increase sales as well. Promotional items help you do this by creating word of mouth advertising for your services or products.

It’s hard to write about benefits without sounding like a robot, so we will try our best to describe some instead! Check out all of our tips here. But what are the most effective types of giveaways? Let us review.

What is a contest?

f pattern marketing

A marketing activity that calls for competition or an event to occur is referred to as a “contest.” An example of a contest would be holding a raffle where you give away something valuable (the prize).

Most businesses use contests to generate attention and engagement for their products and services. This is how most brands get people to know about them!

By creating contests, you can connect with your audience in different ways. You can have social-media contests, internal contests, live contests, and so forth.

There are several types of contests you can do when designing your campaign. Make sure to think about what type of contest will fit your business and market best.

Here are some tips for designing great pattern marketing campaigns.

Give yourself time to test your ideas. Spread out your testing to avoid being overwhelmed. Test one thing at a time until you feel it works well.

Don’t launch into everything all at once. Doing this could distract from the campaign’s main goal. Take your time and evaluate whether or not your campaign was successful before moving onto the next phase.

This article will talk more about indirect forms of pattern marketing. These include things like using matching patterns, layering patterns, and introducing repetition into your life.

What is a sale?

f pattern marketing

Sometimes, it can feel like you’re doing everything right while selling products and services, but your business isn’t moving forward. You might be offering the best product or service possible, you may even spend lots of time marketing, but you are not getting many sales.

The reason for this could be because you aren’t using the right marketing technique. There are several ways to market a business, and choosing the wrong one will only hurt your income.

There are three main types of marketing that most people use when they start their businesses. They are: direct advertising, indirect advertising, and pattern marketing.

Direct advertisements include things such as billboards, commercials, and printed materials and pamphlets. These are usually cost-effective, easy to implement, and have a high rate of exposure.

Indirect advertisements include things such as social media sites, YouTube videos, blogs, and conversations. People can spread your message much more quickly through these resources, and you earn money from advertisers who pay to promote their product on these platforms.

Pattern marketing is the last type we will discuss here! This is when an established company produces a product or service that people love, and they create their own marketing material related to that product or service.

People recognize the brand, so they look to them for answers about the product or how to use it.
