In this article, we will be talking about one of the biggest offenders when it comes to trending apps and features on your LG TV. Most people have noticed these annoying trends already but few know how to actually remove them completely.

So what are we talkin’ about? Let us dive in!

What is trending now?

Trending now or Instantaneous Apps (also known as Slide-In Apps) are applications that can easily be installed onto your LG smart tv. They go beyond just having an interactive feature like YouTube by adding new components such as a “slide out” game board, movie posters, and more.

Some examples of instant app brands include HBO, Netflix, and Hulu with their additional features. Many times, they will even cost extra depending on the model you own!

Why do it matter? Because these apps are not vetted through normal review processes nor does it give credit for being an authentic content provider. It is very easy to install a trending now app onto your lgtv and make money off of it.

How to remove it: The hardest part is removing all of the apps! Almost every one has unique ways of hiding their app under settings so try searching around there. You may also need to search online to see if anyone else has tried uninstalling it and leaving tips.

Update your TV software

Recent additions to streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu have people talking about how much they mess up your entertainment by offering too many features. They are referred to as “trending apps” or “add-on apps” because of their growing popularity.

These trending app feature sets can get out of control quickly if you add them all at once!

By switching off some of these apps for one week, we were able to determine which apps use the most bandwidth when downloading and installing new content.

The top three were: YouTube (with its high quality videos), Twitch (for live video streams), and HBO (via an account subscription).

If you don’t watch very many movies or shows and don’t stream any games or sports, then you can probably skip this tip. However, if you do enjoy watching movies and TV shows, or just want faster internet access, you might consider turning off these extras before heading home from work every night.

Use a TV stand

One of the biggest culprits of trending now is your TV set-up. There are so many ways to organize your television that it can be hard to know which one is the best.

Many people start off with what they think is the best way to position their TV, but then things get cluttered as they add more devices next to it.

This could include a cable box, streaming device like Amazon’s FireTV or Apple’s WatchOS, or an additional antenna for getting local channels. All of these require space in order to work properly, which may not leave much room for other furniture.

If you want to keep using those accessories, just make sure to have them connected outside of the television. That way, your TV can still access all of the information, and you don’t have to worry about cables getting in the way.

Use a different channel

There is an app called Kanaltop that allows you to switch up your current streaming service by creating new accounts with it. You can then browse through all of the channels they have and find one that doesn’t include the feature being removed!

Kanal was designed specifically for Turkish users, but has since been made available worldwide. With their free trial period, you get access to all of their features including trending now!

Their community-driven content makes for some interesting watching as well. They call this feature ‘Trending NOW�’ which seems like a more appropriate name than just ‘trending’.

By using Kanaltop, you will never see the term ‘trending’ anywhere on LG TV except when you are looking into getting the app or downloading it.

Change the timezone

Changing your device’s timezone is one of the most important settings you can adjust in Android. When something happens (like it does with trending now) it uses the local time of the phone as its source, not the server’s!

When this happens, you will notice that the timing gets skewed slightly off because of the difference in times. This effect is very noticeable when watching TV shows, since they have specific timings like an episode start or an award show.

By changing your timezone, these discrepancies disappear, making them more accurate. You can do this by going into Settings > Time & Language> Region and Date/Time. Then, find “Change automatic clock setting” and pick from Off-day-auto, Day-time-automatic, Night-mode-automatic, or Weekend-automatic.

Use different TV programs

There are several ways to remove trending now from your LG smart tv. Some of these methods can be done at home, some require more advanced technology or tools, and some cost money depending on how you go about it.

The easiest way to get rid of this feature is to use different television shows as sources for information. If you don’t like what they say, then skip past that show and find something else!

Use different internet browsers

Recent trends on social media sites like TikTok are creating frustrating experiences for users. Companies have been developing apps that automatically add trending features to your YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram accounts.

By including these features, they get paid by the app developer or company sponsored in some way which is why you may notice them show up even when you don’t use the app.

These apps also typically require access to your device settings so that they can test whether it is possible to connect to certain Wi-Fi networks. This includes testing if there is a password protected network at a work or school where you regularly go.

Removing the apps removes the feature until you re-install the app, but you can still stay clear of the unwanted changes by changing your browser user agent. What this does is pretend to be another browser so that potential software doesn’t associate your computer with the app.

Use a different phone number

It is very common for TV companies to add this feature as well as offer special discounts via their mobile device app.

Some users may feel that this feature makes sense, but it is actually annoying for most people.

The trending now feature automatically calls or texts you at certain times of day so that you do not have time to turn off before the call is made. This is particularly frustrating while you are trying to relax or sleep!

Most people find that these intrusions become too frequent and painful, so they stop using the apps altogether. If this applies to you, try changing your smartphone carrier name, email address, and/or password to see if that helps.

Tell your friends about the trend

It has been seen time and time again, but clearly not enough for most people- when you have trending now or related videos, it can get annoying quickly.
