Marketing Strategy Tips

A new way to approach marketing is by thinking about it as a process instead of an event. Rather than aiming at a destination, your goal should be to keep moving towards your vision while also adapting your strategy along the way.
As you can imagine, this doesn’t set well with the traditional model that thinks you must have done something before you could call yourself a successful marketer.
But here’s the thing: success in business isn’t about being more like the next person, it’s about being better than you were yesterday.
With that in mind, here are seven tips for creating a marketing process rather than a one-and-done event.
Develop your brand
As we have discussed before, branding is an integral part of any successful business. You spend time developing your brand, and then you invest in media to tell people about it.
You cannot separate marketing from branding. Branding is what gives you your identity as a company. It is how people recognize you for who you are and what you stand for. Yours comes naturally and it shifts with changing trends and environments.
Your personal branding will always be important, but investing in effective advertising and media campaigns is an ever-changing process that can help you keep up with the rest of the industry.
And while spending money to promote yourself is a good thing, make sure you are not overdoing it! People may associate you more with expensive brands than they would average ones.
Avoid using too many flashy or conspicuous products unless they truly fit into your brand’s image.
Know your customers

A strong marketing strategy is always focused in one thing – knowing your audience! If you are not sure who your audience is, then it is time to do some research.
Ask yourself what kind of content your followers or watchers of yours enjoy reading. What brands are they supporting? Chances are good that if you read something that feels authentic, like them, and is clearly advertising related, then they will give you their attention too.
By investing in research and finding out more about your potential market, you will know how to cater to them better!
Never assume anything- ask questions, take notes, and do some quick surveys to find out more information.
Distribute your product

A successful marketing strategy does not depend only on how much money you spend, but also on what products or services you are putting forward as alternatives to what you want people to buy.
By distributing your product, or offering substitutes for your own that are better than nothing at all, you create word of mouth advertising for yourself.
People will talk about your product because they like it, or because they believe it is good even if they do not use it themselves.
This effect can be very powerful when used correctly.
The most effective way to distribute your product is through online reviews. If someone else has found your product helpful, then there must be something to it!
You could try writing an article based on this new tip, or doing some research and producing your own review.
Set your price

After determining your product or service, now you need to decide how much you will ask for it. This is referred to as your pricing structure or price tag. It is very important to know that not every person will like or agree with your priced products, so you should only put up prices that fit your budget and are comfortable with.
Encourage customer service

A growing number of businesses these days rely heavily on online reviews to help promote their products and services. But how do you know which reviews are fake or not?
There are several ways to determine if an online review is authentic or not, such as checking for third-party testimonials, proof of purchase, and direct comparisons against past comments.
However, none of those tips actually prove whether or not the reviewer was paid to write the positive statement. An overzealous person may just describe any product favorably no matter what it is unless you can’t afford its competitor!
That’s why we suggest instead focusing on something more difficult to counterfeit — genuine conversations between customers and employees about your product.
By asking questions like “What did you love most about this product?” and “How could this product improve upon itself?,” you will get some great answers that may even tip you off to other areas of need for the company.
Be consistent

Consistency is one of the most important things to be when marketing or promoting anything. This could be your voice, tone, style, and/or subject matter. When you are consistently doing something, you increase your chances of success.
When investing in a product or service, consistency will help ensure that it does what it says it can do. It also helps to reinforce their message about the product or service being needed or wanted.
Consistency is key because people make decisions based on past experiences and expectations. If they find that not true, then they may look for alternatives.
If the alternative is better, they will choose that instead. So, keeping them happy and supporting their decision to invest in the product or service is very important.
As with any investment, there will be a time where you need to lower your efforts. You cannot keep putting money into a thing that is not working.
So, during those times, be conscious of why you are reducing activity. Is it due to lack of results? Is it because you have run out of funds? Or is it simply due to no interest anymore?
All of these reasons are good indicators that you should lowering your activity level. But having a reason related to investment is best.
Build a website

Now that you have your business, your company, your product or service, and yourself as the focus of this marketing effort, it is time to build an online presence.
Your first step should be to create a free web hosting account with a reputable source like Google Blogger or WordPress.com. These two sites are totally free to use!
From there, you can start designing and developing your site using any of the popular website building tools such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Photoshop, or Apple Pages. You can also choose from many free website design softwares such as Muse and Figma.
Once your site is designed to your liking, it’s time to pick a domain name. Pick one that represents your business and that will help people find you easily online.
Connect with your audience

As mentioned before, marketing is not about sticking up for products or services but rather creating relationships that result in action. Creating strong connections comes down to being authentic, responding to questions and comments thoughtfully, and educating people around you through content and conversations.
As we grow older, it can become harder to make new friends and connect with people. This is especially true if you’re trying to do it while working full time and having a family.
If you’ve got a job that pays well, chances are you don’t have too many colleagues who aren’t also paid extremely well. They may be busy with their own careers, they may feel that you’re already rich, etc.
