Multi-level marketing (MLM) systems have become increasingly popular in recent years. While some are very doubtful about their effectiveness, many others say they can be powerful tools for you to use when handled properly.

Some people even refer to MLMs as “parasitic” because of how much money they spend on advertising while earning relatively little under the table.

The term “parasite” was not used with intention to describe this type of business model, but it does fit quite well. It is important to look at any kind of sales or recruitment strategy through an ethical lens.

In this article, we will discuss what makes an effective multi-level marketing system and why these two traits are essential to succeed. If you are looking to start your own successful career or find success working with one, read on!

What Is An Effective Multi-Level System?

First off, let us define what is not considered an effective multi-level marketing system. A lot of times, people get confused by the terminology due to variations in styles and types.

Not all direct sale models are considered multilevel marketing. For example, most large companies have dedicated departments that recruit new representatives. These individuals are typically paid an hourly wage for the work they do, which takes away from the appeal of a mlm style income source.

A few examples of this include Amazon, Google, and Walmart.

Many people these days have limited resources, especially in money. With the ever-increasing costs of living, spending large amounts of cash to make a better life for yourself can be difficult.

That is why most people choose to work at places that offer substantial benefits to them, not only financially but also socially. Health care and insurance are a big part of this social benefit.

By working for an MLM company, you get access to health and wellness products or services that help you improve your overall well-being. These products and services may range from vitamins to nutritional supplements, natural medicine to alternative therapies, and more!

There are many types of multisource income opportunities, but all depend on individuals who provide their service to another party in return for payment. The term “MLM” comes from the initialism meaning “multi-level sales structure.”

What makes this style of business unique is that there is an additional level of compensation involved – not just for the person selling the product, but for those below them as well. This creates an incentive for everyone involved to keep up with the others and contribute to the success of the company.

What is your MMM company?

The most basic definition of marketing that you will find anywhere is “making people aware of a product or service”. With this understanding, all other definitions are built off of it.

A few years ago, however, there was some debate as to what constituted ‘marketing’. Some argued that advertising was not considered marketing anymore due to its over-saturated nature.

In fact, some said that advertisements were actually hurting our perception of brands because they influenced us more negatively than positively.

This negative influence is referred to as ‘the advertisement effect’. The theory goes like this: when we see an advertisement for a product, subconsciously we associate the brand with something bad or useless.

Because of this, we become skeptical about whether or not the product itself is good or even if the manufacturer can be trusted.

As such, we refuse to buy their products or support their mission. This hurts the reputation of the advertiser, which is why they try harder to promote their product in different ways.

However, this only works until they reach someone who has already prejudged them. At that point, the ads seem even more annoying than before!

This process creates a vicious cycle where the advertisers have to spend money to gain exposure, but people are reluctant to give them that opportunity.

How to start and run a MMM business

A lot of people get stuck when they try to launch their own marketing mix (or what I like to call a “Mighty Mix”) company. They don’t know how to pick a niche, they can’t decide whether or not to invest in expensive equipment or services, and sometimes they don’t even understand the basics of marketing.

But none of that matters if you don’t have someone to sell to!

Finding your target audience is the most important part of starting your own business. If you’re reading this article then you already have an idea for where you want to go so you can move onto the next step.

Identify your target market

As mentioned before, finding your niche is one of the most important steps in marketing. But what kind of business or product do you want to reach with your marketing? Finding your ideal audience is just as crucial!

Before diving into specific markets, it’s good to know who your main customers are now. Who spends the most time online looking for products like yours? What types of content attract their attention the most?

These questions can help get you started identifying your target market. By thinking about the things your current customers like, and how they spend their time consuming media, you will begin to identify potential audiences that may be interested in what you have to offer.

By doing this consistently, you will find many different groups of people that match up with your targeted demographics.

Create a marketing plan

After deciding what kind of product or service you have, and determining if you need to launch with a promotional campaign, it is time to create a marketing plan!

What is a marketing plan? It is a goal oriented list of activities that are focused on one thing – creating word-of-mouth (“WOM”) influence for your business. These activities typically include producing content that people will share, promoting through social media, organizing meet and greets, sending emails, doing surveys, etc.

It is very important to not make this too broad. Too many things can be added into ‘producing content’ so make sure only add those items into the checklist that are truly connected to developing your business. For example, instead of including writing as a activity in producing content, adding talking about your business, its services, or yourself as an owner/worker would fit that category much better.

When creating your marketing plan, think about how you can improve upon past strategies. Are there any lessons you can pick up from others’ success? You may also want to look at what types of campaigns worked for your competitors and see what methods they used. By incorporating these into yours, you will achieve more results.

Develop your company website

After you have done all of that, it is time to start developing your business’s site! This can be tricky because not everyone has experience creating their own sites or designing websites, so there are several things you need to consider.

First, what kind of website will fit your business? Will it use a responsive design (so it looks good on every device) or an advanced theme (that adds features like special functions)? There are many free tools you can use to test out different styles and templates.

Second, how do you plan to update the content on your site? You may want to write yourself, but if you don’t take some time to review the material already, then it will waste your time later when you try to put together your own article. Either way, the best way to develop your writing skills is by reading more than just about any given topic; you should always strive to learn something new.

Third, how does your personal style influence the look and feel of your business? If your clothes are mostly sweatshirts and jeans, your site probably won’t feature lots of flashy colors or pictures. To convey this message to your potential customers effectively, think about what types of messages people send each other via phone, chat, and social media.

Create a promotional video

mmm marketing

Recent developments in digital marketing include what has been coined as “viral” marketing or content that spreads via word of mouth. More and more businesses are creating videos to share with the world!

Businesses create these videos to promote their products, services, or ideas (see above). They may use a computer program to produce their video and then edit it using software such as Adobe Photoshop or Microsoft PowerPoint.

These videos usually tell stories or convey an idea. They can be one-time events like a product launch or they can be ongoing announcements or reminders for how to use a product.

There are several reasons why promoting through a business video is effective. First, people love watching videos. We spend around two hours per day consuming a average of six minutes of media at a rate of three minutes per person every day![1]

Second, studies show that we feel more connected to others when they talk about themselves and things that matter to them.[2] This connection makes us trust them more and give them greater credibility. It also boosts our self-confidence and sense of belonging.

Third, research shows that exposure to new experiences helps develop attention focus, executive function skills, goal setting, communication, and socialization skills.[3] All of these qualities help you become a better leader, friend, and citizen of the community.

This article will discuss some tips on how to start your own viral video campaign.

Distribute your materials

This does not mean you have to hand out flyers, or make posters at every event you attend. You can be creative with how you spread your message.

You can put up stickers or banners around the school or workplace, use social media to promote your business, start an online shop and sell products through it, or create a website and invite people to visit it.
