Modern Marketing Strategies

With the explosion of technology, there are now more ways to market your business than ever before. Gone are the days when you could launch an ad campaign in the paper or radio station with no results. You have to work harder, but nothing is completely free!
Businesses must invest money into marketing strategies if they want to be successful. The expensive price tag can sometimes get in the way of investing in new strategies though. It is very common for business owners to feel that their budget is already all used up, so why spend any additional money?
That perception needs to change if you want to achieve your business goals. There are many low cost or even free ways to promote your company. In this article, we will go through some examples of these tactics and how to use them to boost your business’s exposure.
The importance of branding

When we talk about marketing, what we mean are all of the different ways that you can spread your message to as many people as possible to gain exposure for your product or service. This is typically done through social media postings, advertisements, word-of-mouth conversations, etc.
Without an effective brand, it becomes difficult to achieve this goal. You would need to find ways to describe your product or service that sound authentic and professional – something that does not come easily when you do not have much experience with it!
By having a strong brand, you will know what to say about your products and services before you even start talking. Your potential customers will also associate your company name with quality goods and services because of how well they market themselves.
There are several types of brands out there with different purposes. For example, fashion brands like Abercrombie and Fitch promote their clothing style so people who want that look can feel confident in buying their clothes. Food brands like Chipotle and Taco Bell use their food as a way to create attention around them. They become famous for their delicious cuisine and people love to talk about it!”
Businesses now a days seem to be going one step further than just creating fan bases by offering good customer service. Technology companies make large profits due to their clever software applications that meet the needs of other businesses.
A great brand leaves no room for interpretation.
Create a marketing strategy based on your business

As we mentioned earlier, every business is different so what works for one company may or may not work for you!
This goes double for marketing strategies. What worked two years ago may no longer be effective today. Yours could even get more expensive as time passes.
That’s why it is important to evaluate how well your current strategies are working and determine what needs to be changed to improve results.
It’s also worth looking at the past to see what parts of the plan have worked and what didn’t. By analyzing these things, you will learn from your mistakes and find ways to apply this knowledge in other areas of your business- all while developing new skills and techniques.
What I love about this approach is that it doesn’t just focus on whether or not a tactic worked, but how it can be improved to better help your business.
Know your customers

As we mentioned before, knowing who your audience is and what they want can help you market more effectively. But it’s not just about knowing their names and styles, but also figuring out if they know you already and whether or not they trust you.
If they do, then offering them products or services that match up with theirs may win them over. If they don’t, trying to be more likeable will win you some of the time at least!
And while marketing strategies such as influencer marketing and paid advertisements have become common, there are always new ways to approach old problems. Technology makes it possible to test new approaches in stages until you find one that works for you.
Influencers are still very popular, especially among younger audiences. Rather than paying someone to advertise for you, you can create your own channel by sharing content related to yours on social media sites and promoting yourself where others might already be known.
The same goes for advertising; instead of spending money on commercials, you can put up posters, make announcements via chat apps, use digital ads, and so on. The only thing you cannot do is take things directly without permission — which usually isn’t even needed anymore due to how easy it has become to track online activity.
Distribute promotional materials

As mentioned earlier, your business’s first line of defense in terms of marketing is distribution. This includes things like distributing flyers, pamphlets, or advertisements at local businesses and/or non-business locations such as restaurants, gyms, and theaters.
By going up to people where they are typically gathered and offering them for free you start building trust. Plus, most people enjoy getting something for free!
You can also put up posters and billboards or spread messages online through social media, blogs, and advertising sites.
Businesses that use modern marketing strategies understand that creating an audience takes time so don’t get discouraged if it doesn’t seem like much progress is being made. Keep reaping the benefits by investing more into your campaign every few months!
Distribution is one of the cheapest forms of marketing, especially when done correctly. It costs nothing but your time so unless you are paid to do it, there is no excuse not to try it out.
Identify your target market

As mentioned earlier, defining your target audience is an important first step to modern marketing. Who you are targeting and what you want to offer them determines most of the other steps in your campaign.
Before jumping into all of the strategies, make sure that your product or service fits for your targeted audience. If it does not fit, then why invest time in advertising it?
Your target audience can be defined as people with specific characteristics, demographics, or behaviors. These traits should be matched with products and services that match their lifestyle or needs.
By doing this, you will know if your advertisement is more relevant to them or not.
Design your website

After you have determined what kind of business you want to run, the next important step is creating your online presence or what we refer to as your web-store. This includes choosing a domain name, picking a platform (we suggest WordPress) and then designing your site using appropriate marketing fonts and colors that match your business!
Your domain is like your own professional address online. You can use “www” before yours so people will be able to access your website easily. For example, mysite.com would be your domain if you were running an ecommerce store, shoppingcartforsale.mysite.com would be a custom domain for someone who sells their products through Amazon, etc.
After you pick a domain name, you will need to purchase hosting space from a company such as Bluehost, WP Curve, or A2B Hosting. These are all good choices that cost around $10–$20 per month depending on how much traffic you get.
Marketing fonts are used to style text written for websites and apps. They are not bold, italian or cursive but instead plain and simple. Most of these are free to download and use however there may be some that require payment for permission to use them. Make sure to research this thoroughly before adding a font to your site.
Market colors are also referred to as hue, tone, and value. These three components make up the color scheme of a webpage or app.
Offer a unique service

As mentioned earlier, your business’s success depends largely upon its exposure. If you are not able to reach as many people as possible, then how successful will be your business?
Running a business is expensive! Even with all of the tools at our disposal that help market businesses, staying within budget can become difficult.
That is why it is important to find ways to promote your business that do not cost a lot of money. You must look into things like free marketing strategies before investing in paid ones.
There are so many great resources for marketers to use freebies, such as blogs and social media sites where your business could get some exposure.
By creating an online presence, you will increase awareness of your business and potentially win new customers or referrals.
Use the right marketing methods

Sometimes, instead of trying to do everything, we get so focused on doing as many things as possible that we lose sight of what is working and what is not.
This can waste your time and money, while creating poor results. It is important to have a balance between doing different types of marketing and focusing on the ones that are proving to work for you.
You will find that there are some strategies that you just cannot seem to make work, no matter how hard you try or how much money you invest in them. This is totally normal!
It is like this sometimes. Some marketing tactics simply fail to produce the desired result. You need to realize this was probably due to something beyond our control- maybe they were not designed correctly, or you needed to test one more time before investing valuable resources into it.
