Most people agree that colors going together looks cool, but why stop there? Color blocking is when one pattern (or shape) block of solid colors is placed next to another pattern block of only solids.

The reason most people think this isn't very interesting design is because everything seems too symmetrical. There is nothing unique about this style.

It also can be hard to tell where one set ends and the other begins. This may distract from the overall flow of the clothes or decoration. Or maybe someone just doesn't like color matching.
