You’re Not Alone
There are so many great Korean TV shows streaming on Netflix, it can be hard to know which ones to add into your watch list. In this article, we will talk about our top five favorites!
All of these k-dramas are in the same genre, but they all have their own unique qualities that make them special. What is the most important thing when choosing what show to watch?
Just like with any other type of movie or television show, you want to enjoy it. If you get distracted by something else, then you lost an opportunity to experience the show fully.
So, make sure you focus only on watching one at a time.
The House

The House is an interesting show that has gathered quite a large community of fans since it released in August 2016. It may sound like your normal night out with friends, but The House is much more than that!
The main premise of the show is to watch as five rich people spend their nights together while one person is constantly trying to get away. Each episode features a different situation for someone to attempt to escape or flee the house, which always leads to something crazy happening.
What makes this show unique though, is how into character each individual really becomes. This includes changing hairstyles, clothes, and personality traits. All of these things add to the overall experience of watching the show.
Furthermore, there are usually three to four episodes per week, making the audience feel connected and involved in the story. It’s almost like they are part of the cast or group that travels around the city looking for opportunities to capture the fleeing party.
Overall, The House is a great way to waste some time during late night hours. Plus, you will probably find yourself connecting to at least one of the characters and having a conversation about what happened on TV that day.
You’re Not a Lawyer, Mrs. Lee

There are so many great legal dramas on TV these days that it can be hard to know where to start. Luckily for you, we have done some legwork by compiling an extensive list of all the important things for you to consider before deciding which one is your new favorite show.
We will also take into consideration how well each show portrays lawyers and whether or not they make sense as people. While there may be no lawyer in real life who fits what their character should look like on screen, giving yourself time to adjust to the differences will help you get past this.
Lastly, we will discuss some benefits that watching a legal drama has for you.
Marriage, Not Dating

Many have described these romantic comedies as marriage-focused or relationship-themed, but that’s not quite right. They are more accurately described as “marriage waiting to happen” or even “will they/won’t they?”
The term romance comes up frequently throughout most of these dramas, which makes sense given that most characters in a romantic comedy meet at least once per week if not every day. Characters often talk about finding love and having faith in themselves and in others, and there will usually be some kind of kiss (or many).
These stories typically focus on protagonists who feel like their lives are completely out of control and full of chaos, and thus need to make changes in order to find happiness. Sometimes it’s with someone else, sometimes it’s with yourself, but either way, something is always resolved by giving your life an orderly structure.
That’s why people say romantic comedy movies can help you learn how to live together.
That’ll Be $10 Million

This past week, netflix released its latest foray into Korean content with That Winter Theland! It was their first korean show that is not focused on romance or comedy and instead features more dramatic storylines.
That makes sense because this show takes place in an almost future where winter never really ends. People are living in snowy climates due to climate change and it seems like every city has at least one person who enjoys the snow for some reason.
Since most of these people enjoy living in cold weather, they make lots of money through selling products related to winter. All of these products seem very authentic and practical so many people believe in them. Some even contribute to the cause by protesting against global warming or changing how they live to be less harmful to the environment.
This creates a lot of controversy about whether or not politicians are doing enough to stop climate change. Many people get very passionate about it and some even take direct action. This passion can easily turn into violence or protest which only helps fuel more protests.
So as we can see, there is a ton of drama going on around protecting our planet and creating sustainable environments. These dramas are interesting to watch because they are well written and feature good acting. They also tend to focus a little bit more on the effects of climate change than what causes it.
Overall, these reasons make For The Land worth watching if you love romantic comedies or stories with heavy themes.
Sweet School

A sweet, romantic comedy with an awesome title, Sweet School marks the fourth Korean film in this trend of k-dramas that focus more on relationships than action or horror. If you’re looking for some relationship help, then look no further!
In terms of tone, Sweet School is very upbeat and playful. It is also quite emotional at times, which can be both pleasant and tough to watch.
Overall, the movie is sweet and relatable as it follows several characters throughout different stages in their love stories. The romance is not only shown through stills and cutscenes but also through interactions between the characters while they are apart and during events.
The setting and plot of the movie also play a large role in how the audience feels about the story. Some people may find the school and student body settings too stereotypical but others will appreciate the diversity in cultures and environments represented.
Chef Go Go

In this drama, we are introduced to chef Ho Jun (played by Lee Dong Hwan). He has just been let go from his position at a high-end restaurant due to an incident that happened there several years ago. As he waits for a new job, he lives with his sister who is more concerned about her son than anything else.
It seems like things can’t get any worse for him until he meets Mi Joo (played by Kim Ji Won), whom he accidentally bumps into in the elevator. They strike up a conversation which eventually leads them going out on dates. While they are dating, she discovers that he doesn’t have much money, so she helps him out by letting him live in her house and pay for food.
He slowly starts to grow attached to her family members, but it isn’t easy trying to fit into their culture. She even goes as far as having a party where alcohol is served, making it difficult for Jun to resist drinking. When she finds out that he was able to put away almost half of the bottle, she makes sure to make it clear that this will never happen again!
This show follows the theme of many others before it — relationships are not simple. There are always complications that arise, sometimes big ones. But, if you look close enough, you will find that your loved one is actually someone special.
Save Me

Saving yourself or someone else’s life is never easy, but it must be done in order to survive as a person. There are many examples of this in television and film, so why not add one to your personal tally?
There’s a reason that movies like Brave and TV shows like Grey’s Anatomy have been able to strike such a chord with audiences for years! For those who need a little help figuring out what they want from their lives, these stories can offer some valuable insights.
And while most people may not agree about what makes for the best lifestyle choice, everyone can at least understand how someone could possibly feel stuck in place when faced with impossible situations.
It’s great seeing characters struggle with whether or not to take action, but also watching them succeed in changing themselves or others is very inspiring. After all, we’re all only here because someone decided to invest in us before we were even born.
So if you’re feeling overwhelmed by the demands of your life right now, maybe it’s time to do something about it. You owe it to yourself to try to save yourself, if nothing more than for your own sanity.
But don’t forget about those around you! Invest in and trust those close to you, instead of being too focused on getting your own house in order. Because believe me, there will come a day where no one is left.
