As we can see, trends are everywhere around us. They’re in fashion (keep up with the latest fashions), technology (obsolete technologies make way for newer ones!), food and drink (no matter what cuisine you love, there is a trend at least once every year)! And while some trends come and go as passing fads, others stick around for an extended period of time.

This is because they offer something valuable to people. Technology was needed before Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook made their presence known. Food blogs didn’t exist back when MomsAroundTheTown first started writing one!

So how do these things help people? By giving them inspiration or knowledge that they can apply to other areas of their lives. A new smartphone may seem cool, but holding onto a phone that no longer connects to the internet makes sense if you want to save money. Or maybe your budget doesn’t include much food spending right now, so keeping your wallet closed and hungry is better than buying something expensive that you don’t need.

These experiences work because they teach people about the value of good health, savings, and nutrition. More importantly, they give people hope; even though life might not be totally free, you still have control over parts of it.

That's why I wanted to talk about one of my favorite trending terms: wellness.

Trends that are changing

There is always something happening in this world, and we as humans seem to be obsessed with keeping up with the trends. It seems like every day there’s a new fad or trick or technique or product that has taken over social media and the internet. People have become very aware of their influence and how they can use it for themselves.

It is great to see people getting more creative with using technology to achieve their goals. We all need inspiration sometimes, so let us look at some trending technologies.

What is it? A trend is when a thing becomes popular. For example, before cell phones, people did not have access to constantly be connected. Now everyone does! Technology trends are interesting because they grow rapidly, then slow down, and then pick back up again.

There are several reasons why these trends come and go. Sometimes companies make too many products similar to one another, creating a situation where people feel overwhelmed. This creates a perception that none of them work, which sets a tone for the market as a whole.

Other times, people get tired of doing the same things time after time, so they try something new. And finally, someone discovers a new way to do something and spreads the information about it.

Popular trends

Recent trends in fashion are known as “trends” because they are repeated by other clothing brands to imitate or steal from them. These styles are typically characterized as having large amounts of white space, bold patterns, and/or very simple designs. This is due to most people copying the style and making it their own.

Some examples of this include using oversized sweatshirts as dress shirts and jeans with patterned t-shirts. There have also been many times where people have mixed materials together, such as wearing leather jackets with silk dresses or pants under them. All of these trends show how popular design concepts are loved and copied by others.

These trends were not only limited to just clothes, but also hairstyles and color schemes. For example, when Sandra Bullock wore her leather jacket with no shirt underneath, she was copying another trend that has gone viral.

And while some may consider this trend cliché, there are lots of variations you can do to make it unique. It is your choice whether to use all leather, none, or both as parts of the look. And if you want to add some extra flavor, like pinstripes or checks, go for it!

Another way to see how popularly designed outfits have spread is to watch YouTube videos or browse through Instagram. You will notice that almost every profile features at least one self styled photo resembling an already seen popular outfit.

Less popular trends

Recent trends that have lost their luster are nothing to get too upset about, but instead give you an opportunity to find new favorites. For example, back in 2010 people were investing heavily in pendant jewelry- those small hanging pieces made of crystals or metal.

These are not necessarily bad, but they can be expensive if you want to make lots of them. More affordable alternatives include dangling earrings, necklaces with pendants, and even rings that feature an additional piece attached to it.

Sleek, elegant designs are your best bet if you like more formal looks.

Online trends

Recent popular trends include keeping it casual with t-shirts and sweatshirts, adding some nice jewelry to your look, and incorporating warm touches into your wardrobe such as long sleeve shirts or flannel pants.

Many people enjoy mixing and matching clothing types and styles to convey their own personal style.

By investing in new pieces that are related, they create a continuous story about themselves. For example, someone who loves bolder colors may dress in all black clothes but then add some flashy jewelry for contrast. Or someone who is very organized may purchase lots of white products because they match everything else!

These individuals express their personality through what they wear and how they accessorize.

Pop-up trends

As we mentioned before, pop up toys are quite popular these days. They seem to be coming in and out of style as manufacturers create new ones that have different features and styles. Some come with very expensive looking jewelry that can be stored away when not used.

Many people associate them with Christmas presents or gift giving occasions so some make fun of how much money they cost now!

They also vary in size depending on which one you get. This makes it hard to tell if someone has tested it out or not since there is no way to know their personal setting settings!

What does this mean for you?

Well, like with anything toy related, beware of what sites claim theirs are authentic products. Only purchase from sellers with full pictures and lots of reviews.

Shopping trends

Recent shopping trends that have crossed over into mainstream fashion are neutral, classic looks mixed in with some flashy or unique touches. These are sometimes referred to as “clean” styles because they stay out of the way, not getting in the way of what you want to see.

A few examples include wearing long sleeve shirts under short sleeves or dress pants under jeans (with a belt) for a casual look, or incorporating leather shoes or bags into your wardrobe.

Shopping is a fun activity if you are looking to add new things to your collection, but it can also be expensive depending on how much you spend!

General tips: remember to compare prices before buying and read reviews before investing in a product. Also, try online stores like Amazon, Walmart, or Target to find something great!

Google Trends is an excellent tool to check general trends. You can search by keywords or phrases to determine popular topics and products.

Restaurant trends

With the explosion of food blogs, YouTube channels, and talk show hosts sharing their culinary expertise, it has now become very popular to comment on what restaurants are trending or coming back into popularity.

A restaurant trend is when many people start talking about an eatery in detail- how much they loved going there, why they go there often, etc. This conversation usually includes comparisons to other similar eateries and/or comments about how good or bad the restaurant is.

It’s not just limited to food sites though; you can also find stories online about how hard it was to get a table at this specific chain restaurant, how expensive the meal was, or even rumors that the owner is racist. All of these things contribute to the hype surrounding the restaurant!

Overall, food trends seem to fluctuate between getting more attention due to the sheer number of people talking about them and then fading away as people “give up” on the idea that this place will be great forever.

But some trends stick around for a while…and we can learn from those! For example, let’s look at one such trend: chicken wings.

The first time most people probably heard of chicken wing places was during the 1980’s when Buffalo Wings took off. Since then, almost every major city has at least one buffalo sauce covered wing place where you can get your fill.

Sports trends

Recent sports trends include concepts such as motivational t-shirts, team uniforms, and even sponsored dances or songs. Teams have designed logos, sweatshirts, and hats to reflect on past achievements or motivate players for upcoming games.

Many companies sponsor athletic teams by paying to advertise on the stadium billboards, online advertisements, printed materials, and/or broadcast media during the game. This is called advertising space! It costs money, but it’s very cost efficient since you are spending money on ads instead of hiring staff to do direct marketing (telling people about your product).

Some athletes will put their shirt off or pull out a toothbrush before the game because they need extra motivation. The clothes and gear that an athlete wears can influence how motivated they feel so keeping up with the latest styles is another way to check if they are awake and aware.

These types of products are not only helpful in motivating athletes, but them also giving fans more ways to be immersed in the sport.
